...coastal flood watch remains in effect until 11 am edt this
morning...
* locations...lakeshore areas in the western basin of lake erie
including the islands.
* lakeshore flooding...as of 3:30 am on sunday, the water level
at toledo was 65 inches above low water datum. the combination
of high water levels on the western basin of lake erie and 5 to
8 foot waves has the potential to cause lakeshore flooding and
erosion.
* timing...through sunday morning.
* impacts...flooding is possible along the immediate lakeshore.
beach and shoreline erosion is also possible. rising water
levels in marinas and waterways into the lake may also
submerge docks and shoreline structures.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
a coastal flood watch means that conditions favorable for
flooding are expected to develop. coastal residents should be
alert for later statements or warnings...and take action to
protect property.
